Polyamide High Performance (PHP) to Increase Prices for Polyamide (PA) 6.6 Enka® Nylon Yarns Worldwide
Sustained increases in the cost of raw materials and energy force PHP raise the prices of PA 6.6 Enka® Nylon yarns.
Numerous publications report daily that sustained increases in the price of crude oil, gas and raw materials cyclohexane, butadiene and ammonia have caused the cost of polyamide products to go up considerably. A leading factor for the escalation of prices in the raw material markets is an increasing demand, particularly in Asia, leading to a tight supply scenario in a number of sectors. The outlook for 2007 shows no easing of price tension, as the demand for precursor products of PA 6.6 polymers will remain high.
Consequently, PHP has no other option but to pass on the raw material cost increases to its customers. Prices for PA 6.6 Enka® Nylon yarns are being raised 6% to 9% depending on yarn type.
